Life Underwriter II

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Life Underwriter II who will analyze, evaluate, and classify risk for life insurance applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and determine acceptance or denial of life applications with face amounts up to $1,000,000
• Request and assure appropriate information for underwriting requirements, including medical reports and investigations
• Prepare data and reports for the Medical Information Bureau and support contract change and reinstatement underwriting

Required Qualifications

• 2-year college degree in Finance, Business, or Economics
• 1-2 years of life insurance industry experience
• Knowledge of life and annuity sales strongly preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Ability to work well in a team environment and demonstrate proactive skills
