What you're great at (Must Haves):
Operating a wide variety of playout systems such as Imagine Versio, OBS studio, ITX 2.0, Broadstream OASYS, VPLAY
Hands-on on configuration of live events scheduled from event sites using
playout.
Playlist scheduling of respective channels - content ingestion, preview, and content validation
Live schedule playlist monitoring from master control room
Playout secondary events scheduling such as logo, tickers, slate overlays, back-in, etc.
Monitoring and managing the playout channel's out streams. This job will require a candidate to respond to network alerts and respond with corrective actions.
Integrating third party subsystems with playout, such as traffic system, monitoring system, etc.
Basic knowledge of video standards e.g., video encoding codecs
H.264/HEVC/XDCAM/DVCPro/AVCIntra/DV25 etc.
Wrapper/container MXF/MOV/MP4 etc.
Basic knowledge of audio codecs e.g., PCM, AAC, AC3, etc.
Communication and interpersonal skills, including a very good command of written and spoken English.
Other Skillsets (Desired):
Technical understanding of a variety of hardware and software platforms: Windows, proprietary and open-source UNIX varieties (Linux).
Experience in network and system administration activities.
Knowledge of networks and back-end infrastructure.
Knowledge of virtual machines using VMware (vSphere and vCenter) would be
advantageous.
Basic knowledge in networking components -switches routers, firewall, etc.
Knowledge of networking protocols i.e. TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, RTMP, RTSP, IGMP, UDP, RTP, SRT
Knowledge of MPEG/DVB and video delivery systems.
Basic knowledge of HLS, DASH.
What you've been up to:
Working in playout operations and management for 2-6 years.
What you'll be doing:
Scheduling playlists for channels from the playout system.
Program guide ingestion.
Scheduling primary and secondary events with necessary graphics, tickers, logo insertion.
