Job Summary
A company is looking for a Sr. Principal Engineer - Modeling and Dynamic Studies, Utility Planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead modeling efforts and provide technical expertise in dynamic and stability studies for plant performance and NERC compliance
- Validate generator models and ensure compliance with utility interconnection agreements through software simulation
- Engage with industry committees to stay updated on IBR modeling practices and advocate for favorable outcomes
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
- Master of Electrical Engineering preferred; Bachelor in Electrical Engineering required
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in transmission stability and dynamic studies
- Advanced experience with power industry modeling software such as PSSE, PSLF, and PSCAD
- Deep understanding of FERC, NERC, and IEEE standards related to IBR resources
- Knowledge of U.S. power markets, transmission tariffs, and interconnection processes
